Crooked Creek Community Development Corporation is a nonprofit housing organization that uses public and private resources to create affordable housing solutions. Current housing initiatives include:

Homeowner Repair for Seniors and the Disabled – Crooked Creek CDC accepts applications from elderly (over age 62) and disabled homeowners who need assistance with major home repairs including: replacement/repair of roofs, furnaces, air conditioners or installation of handicap accessibility items. Congregate Housing for the Disabled and Elderly

Down Payment Assistance – When funding is available, Crooked Creek CDC encourages graduates of certified home ownership programs to apply for down payment assistance in order to purchase homes in Crooked Creek. Restrictions apply. For more information email avaughn@crookedcreekcdc.org.

Congregate Housing for the Disabled and Elderly – In response to a statewide shortage of affordable community-based housing for the disabled, Crooked Creek CDC purchases vacant substandard residential properties and converts them into accessible homes for people with special needs. The CDC partners with local providers such as St. Vincent New Hope, which provides comprehensive health and personal care. The CDC is responsible for ensuring the property is maintained and leases units on a long-term basis to each tenant. For more information contact achadwick@crookedcreekcdc.org.

Rehab of Foreclosed Homes for First-time Buyers – Beginning in 2009, Crooked Creek CDC will begin acquiring and rehabbing foreclosed residential properties as a way to stabilize struggling neighborhoods. Rehab of Foreclosed Homes for First-time BuyersWhen complete, properties will be marketed city-wide to graduates of certified home ownership programs. Keys to Home Ownership Pilot with St. Vincent Health – As the largest employer in Crooked Creek, St. Vincent and Crooked Creek CDC are working together to provide home ownership education to St. Vincent associates who do not own a home but want to become homeowners in the future. The benefits of living close to where one works and the stabilizing impact home ownership can have on a child's education is well documented.
